How BISP Payments Work

The Benazir Income Support Programme disburses cash transfers to over 9.3 million enrolled households four times a year. Because of the scale of the programme, payments are rolled out in phases by district — not all households receive payment on the same day. Each phase is announced officially by BISP and beneficiaries receive an SMS notification on their registered mobile number when their specific disbursement becomes available.

Payments are collected through HBL biometric ATMs, which require your fingerprint for identity verification (no card or PIN needed), or at designated payment campsites set up temporarily in areas with limited ATM infrastructure. BISP also operates a Digital Wallet system where payments are deposited to a mobile-linked account.

Your wallet balance does not expire — funds remain available for withdrawal until you collect them, even across multiple disbursement cycles. There is no penalty for collecting a quarter's payment a few weeks late, though we recommend collecting promptly so you can flag any issues (such as a fingerprint mismatch) while the disbursement window is still open.

BISP registration is always free of charge. Anyone asking you to pay a fee for registration, payment collection, or status checking is engaging in fraud. See our BISP Scams guide for warning signs.

How to Collect Your Payment

HBL Biometric ATM

Visit any HBL ATM configured for BISP biometric withdrawal. Place your finger on the scanner — no card, PIN, or paperwork needed. The ATM verifies your identity directly against your NADRA fingerprint record.

Designated Payment Campsite

In rural areas with limited ATM access, BISP and HBL set up temporary campsites during each quarterly window. Bring your original CNIC; verification works the same way as the ATM, via fingerprint.
