The 8171 web portal (8171.bisp.gov.pk) is the official online eligibility-checking system of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), operated by the Government of Pakistan. It allows any Pakistani citizen to check whether their household is enrolled in BISP programmes — including Benazir Kafaalat, Taleemi Wazaif, and others — simply by entering their 13-digit CNIC number.
The portal does not require account creation, registration, or login for a basic status check. Any person with a CNIC can check their status in under two minutes. The portal also displays the enrolled payment amount, the programme name, and whether payment has been processed for the current quarter.
The "8171" in the portal name and short code refers to the official BISP helpline and SMS number — the same number is used both for the website's branding and for the SMS status-check service, which is why both channels are referred to interchangeably as "8171" in everyday conversation.
